Mohican, an eastern Algonquian language Native Nation originally situated in the Hudson River Valley and western New England.
In 1680, they were centered in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
In the 17th century, they were missionized by the Moravian Church.
In the 1830s, the Stockbridge-Munsee community along with Lenape removed to Shawapo County, Wisconsin where they reside today.
They have Federal Recognition.
